The supreme authority of the LGF is the Constituency which assembles annually in March. The Constituency consists of two representatives from each of the LGF's 67 member bands. The Constituency elects the seven members of the Board of Directors, as well as the members of the LGF's four committees. The candidates for the these positions are elected from the circle of member bands, and can both be voluntary band leaders or actual band members. Moreover, the Board of Directors can appoint people for special assignments. Members of the Board of Directors and of the committees work on a voluntary basis. The daily administration of the association is conducted by the General Secretary and the Executive Committee.
